From this experience I have gained a great deal of perspective. Seeing how other people live their lives very differently from mine, I feel like I have a less self centered world view from this experience. I have gained confidence as a leader and I have also greatly improved my Spanish - now, I want to continue learning the language.

Leaders-in-Action Parent
Our daughter had an amazing experience in the Leaders in Action program. It was full of meaning, adventure, and connection. She took all sorts of the right kinds of risks - risks in trying new things, building new friendships, and doing things every day entirely outside her comfort zone. She came home full of the confidence you gain when you open yourself to new experiences. We are so proud of her and so thankful she found Global Routes.

Global Routes brought "aloha" to my life. I was able to go out of my comfort zone and discover a new place with new people. It ended up being the best summer and experience! The leaders worked really hard to create an energetic and well-working team of students. I learned so much Hawaiian culture, history, and people. I also learned a lot about myself. There was so much that I gained from the process and adventure and I would do it over 100%!

Going technology free is something I have been doing every summer for ten years, and as I grow older I have learned to appreciate it more and more each year. I feel that after every long school year, stress starts to build, and being able to walk away from technology is not only a privilege but also very rewarding. Without social media, there is no comparing yourself to others, there is no constant stress of being good enough. Its extremely important to me to take that month or two each summer to focus on myself and grow, and in my opinion the easiest and most fulfilling way to do so is by going technology-free.
